I am deeply saddened to learn of Buddy's passing. You all have my deepest sympathy. I knew Buddy as a friend, co-worker, and supervisor to be an extremely honest and fare person. My life has been enrichened and made more enjoyable because of the challenges and opportunities he afforded me in my career at the shipyard. God bless.

I have wonderful childhood memories of visiting Aunt Edyth and Uncle Wise Harmon in Melfa, and seeing Buddy and Ida Lynne when they were dating, before they married. And I remember a big, fat cat at Aunt Edyth's named "B-I" that I tried to cuddle, but she'd have no part of it - named "B-I" for Buddy and Ida Lynne. Buddy was always wonderful to me - and I always loved him very much. I'm so glad we had a chance to visit in 2006 when he and Ida visited New Jersey to see my mother (Mildred Wilson) several months before she passed away. My heartfelt condolences and love to Ida Lynne, Laura and Darrell.

The first man I ever called "Coach". Spent many an hour over at the Woods' home playing in the pool and playing backyard hockey. Great childhood memories provided by this family. Mr. Wood even helped me get employment at the shipyard. Just a great man in my memories and I feel he will be missed by many. Mrs. Wood, Darrell, and Laura: you and Mr. Wood were wonderful to me when I was growing up and I will always love you all for it. I hope you can soon find comfort while dealing with your loss. Thanks for all you did for me, Coach.
