My sincere condolences to the family. Words are never enough to take away the pain; but we can find comfort in Jesus' promise to soon bring our loved ones back to life again- John 5:25-29 and Acts 24:15. Jehovah the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3) also promises to remove all suffering an death forever- Revelation 21:3-5. May Jehovah provide the family with strength and inner peace as you all reflect on his promises and cherish wonderful memories of Nan. To the family of Mrs. Nan Sloan..... I was honored to have had the privilege of serving Miss Nan, as I was a Dining room Server @ the Hermitage....She was always a pleasant person and tried hard not to complain, under all the discomfort she was experiencing....My last evening there, I went to see her in the Health Center Dining room to inform her of my leaving, giving her a card to remember me by....her hug was a blessing....My daughter, Bethany.....a CNA @ the Herm. was there when she passed and told me that the card was there on a table in her room...May you feel the comfort, peace and strength that only Jesus Christ can offer, today and always!!! May God Bless You, Always!!! She often me how special my husband was to her....she saw him @ dialysis...she was a blessing to him, too and will be missed by many!!! Love In Christ, Mrs. Pamela Clayton

To her family, I send my deep sympathies.

I still remember being her teacher's pet; volunteering to help shelve books in the Marsh and Attales school libraries some mornings before school, and spending a summer barcoding books about 15 years ago. Mrs. Sloan was very appreciative, and I can remember her personally taking us out to dinner at Joe & John's with her husband on more than one occasion. Know that she'll be missed.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.

Susie and Bob, accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of your mom. She was a wonderful librarian and teacher. She also was a most congenial hostess. We attended many gatherings at Cynwood Drive where the conviviality abounded!
Nan is now with Jerry. Rest in peace my friend.

We had the pleasure of Nan's guidance of our two daughters from kindergarten to eighth grade ('88-'97). She was a memorable teacher and a dear person to us. We wish to extend our heartfelt condolence and to let her family know that Nan had an extraordinary impact on so many families. Rest in peace, Nan.

Nan was such a lovely, energetic, and vibrant young woman back in high school, but we lost track of each other after our 1954 graduation. For Nan's family I posted the yellowing newspaper clipping of our 1954 ACFS graduation 61 years ago clipped from the old Atlantic City Press by my mother, and that I found among her belongs when she too passed a few years ago. Nan, it sounds like you had a wonderful life that positively affected many people as you passed through. Mrs. Morgan would have been very proud. Heartfelt condolences to Nan's family. And RIP Nan Fisher.

Nan Sloan was a grand lady. She and Gerry opened their loving home, hospitality, good food, and their wonderful cat, Days-e, to a newly ordained priest. Nan and Gerry were proud parents and grandparents who were always there for their children. They were active parishioners at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Absecon, N. J., where Nan served as a cracker-jack lector and member of the Liturgical Committee. Nan was also a tireless educator and possessed an intelligent, inquiring mind. Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter the Kingdom which now awaits you.

I met Nan at a birthday party at her brothers' home. She was one of the nicest women I have had the pleasure of knowing. I would see her at the Charity League Christmas Show and she would come and give me a hug and always asked about my children. Say hi to Jerry for us.

Mrs. Sloan was my school librarian through out elementary school. . That was over 20 years ago. I still remember her today as a stand out teacher. As a an elementary school teacher myself, I have come to appreciate her and her love for reading even more. Some stand out things that I'll never forget were when she had us memorize a Robert Frost poem, the Junior Great Books program, Reading Rainbow and how she actually came to my house in the Summer to drop off books she thought I would like to read. That is not only a stand out teacher- but a stand out person. "Ya-Boom!" <3 <3 <3

I'll always remember her red lipstick and loud, chunky jewelry. She read stories with such animation, and left those stories engrained in the memories of many. Rest easy Mrs. Sloan and keep reading to us from that beautiful "Reading Rainbow" in the sky!

So sorry to hear of Nan's passing and sending my deepest sympathy to her family. She was a great lady! My 3 children were lucky to have had her teach them many things while she was librarian at their school and I was very lucky to have been able to get to know her and Gerry personally when I helped them sell their family home and move to Smithville. She was always so ready for a new adventure!
