Claudia and family:
What can you say about Ott Carpenter? First he was totally devoted to his family and friends, then he was doing what he did best, meeting people, never a stranger, and making their lives better because he was in it in some capacity. So Ott my friend of 48 years," You Were The Man" I bid you farewell you will be truly missed.

Dear Claudia and Ronnie,
We were so saddened to hear about Ott. What a great person he was. Hillary said "Ott and Margaret were a Wachapreague institution!". He will surely be missed by many. What wonderful memories you must have. Know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Love and blessings, Amy

I just wanted to say that the service was so nice. I'm glad I got to see Mr. Ott at your home before he passed. I will never forget him. I'm going to miss our many chats we had in the yard. I will miss seeing him out in the garden. I wanted to share two memories for you and Carrie. The first thing is how much he boasted and went on how proud he was of Carrie. He really really loved her. You could tell by how he talked about her. He also thought a lot of her children. Also Mrs. Margaret always told me about Carrie and all her accomplishments. I thought that would mean a lot for Carrie to know. Also since I moved back home I have had many conversations with Mr. Ott, one that we had many times was about his truck. He absolutely loved and enjoyed that new truck. When he would pull up he would have a huge smile on his face. I'm so glad he got to enjoy that truck. It really meant a lot to him. I'm sorry for your loss but I hope those two memories can bring a smile to Carrie and you. God bless!

Claudia,Ronnie, and Carrie.....Sorry I couldn't get to the service but you all were in my thoughts and prayers. Otto was a good one ! He has called me "Hardrock" since I can remember and I wonder if he knew my real name.? Such memories when mama and daddy , Miss Margaret and Ott went to each others houses for coffee. Ott would always take up for me when I scared you about ghosts and then here comes your mama and gave me heck. So glad he was a part of my childhood and my friend to the day he passed. Take care --Gary

I will miss him riding by and stopping to talk to me while I was out in the yard.. He always had a smile and was so thoughtful. He always had a few words about "Sam" not doing my yard work so it was a ongoing joke. Remember all the good times and hold them tight and he will always be with us. May God Bless you all doing this time

To the Carpenter family,
Mr. Carpenter (Ott) was a fine gentleman. I can see him and my parents (Conaway & Blanche) working together on the lots Mr. Carpenter tended in the town of Wachapreague. I'm sure he, Mrs. Carpenter, C.B. and Mom are in heaven keeping the angels entertained.

Take care and our prayers are with you.
