Steven Westley Blankenship

Mr. Steven Westley Blankenship, 44, of Melfa, VA, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at his residence. 

Born May 4, 1970 in Nassawadox, VA, he was a son of Robert Gene Blankenship, Sr. and Donna Faye Blankenship of Melfa.  Growing up in the family used car sales business, Steven was born to be a salesman and there wasn’t a sale he couldn’t make.  His passion for anything with four wheels didn’t stop at the car lot.  He loved going to dirt track races, mud bogs, and NASCAR races, where he would cheer for his favorite driver, Dale Jr.  Steven also enjoyed going fishing and attending Sunday service at Faith Baptist Church with his family.  He had a heart of gold and was a friend to many.   

In addition to his parents, survivors include a son, Nathan Burton of Smith Beach, VA; a sister, Sandra Bonner of Nassawadox; three brothers, Robert Gene “Bobby” Blankenship, Jr. and wife Patty of Accomac, VA, Ricky Blankenship and wife Angie of Morley’s Wharf, VA, and Corey Glover and wife Jackie of Crisfield, MD; and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a brother, William Gary Blankenship. 

Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Onancock Funeral Home, Friday, April 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with the Reverend Robert Madron officiating.  Interment will follow at the Wachapreague Cemetery.  There will be a visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
