Ed was a kind and helpful neighbor--a good friend always ready to share a bottle of wine and his opinions. I'll never forget the day he took my son Ian and me out on his catamaran.

I'm very sorry that I will be unable to attend tomorrow. Eddie and I were high school classmates. He was a large part of the core reunion group by tracking folks down and keeping a list.
Heard there might be a memorial in Newport News. Sure hope so. Eddie will be missed.

One afternoon Ed motored up to our bulkhead in a boat he had built and asked: "Would you like a rockfish?" and threw one to me which we had for supper. A good and sharing man.

I will miss Ed. He was a model neighbor and helpful friend. He was always willing to lend a hand, whether it was erecting a new flagpole or working out the kinks in a computer.
