Johnnie Mears
December 19, 1949 ~ August 22, 2015 (age 65) 65 Years OldMr. Johnnie Arden Mears, 65, husband of Sandra VanScoy and a lifelong resident of Bloxom, Va., passed away at his residence on Saturday, August 22, 2015.
Born December 19, 1949, he was a son of the late Johnnie Mears and Mamie Killmon Mears. Johnnie was a brick mason, and an avid car enthusiast and antique collector.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: step-son Bobby Barnes, daughter Danielle Mears, son Jonathan Mears, daughter Brooke Mears, step-son Tyler VanScoy and his wife Heather, and step-daughter Lillie VanScoy Stevens and her husband Travis; brother Larry Mears and his wife Sandy Hart Mears; his grandchildren, Justin VanScoy, Ethan VanScoy, Isaiah Stevens, Karsten Stevens, Havana Stevens, and Henry Barnes; and a niece, Kimberly Pryor and her husband Earl.
A memorial service to celebrate Johnnie’s life, will be conducted from the chapel of the Williams-Parksley Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 2:00 p.m., with The Reverend John Cullop officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
