Christian and family,
When I think of your Mom, I think of the time that she loaded up her station wagon with a bunch of us girls from the church's youth group and drove us to Randolph Macon College to tour the campus. Bless her heart! She had her hands full when she decided to do that! Our prayers are with you and your entire family. Hugs!

Dear David and family. So sorry to hear of your loss, but I know that the many happy moments that you shared with Millie will comfort you in your grief. I pray for your peace and God's comfort.
First met Millie in the early 1980's during Garden Week. Her warmth and hospitality shined through as she guided us through her home long past the time when guests were welcome. Over the years I had many opportunities to work with Millie and I always found her grace and willingness to help others something that made her stand out from the crowd.
We are all blessed to have known her. Thank you letting me share these thoughts as I am unable to be at the memorial service on Thursday. Sincerely, John H. Verrill

I watched you two girls grow up to be beautiful women- to your Mom's credit. She will be missed by all that knew her. She'll live on in your memories each and every day. Christian Bache and Family,
We were so sorry to hear about your mother. She had such a pretty smile and was so well liked. When my mom passed away last year, John 5:24 was such an encouragement to me. "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgement, but has passed out of death into life."

When a young doctor, looking scraggly, hip,and hairy and his similarly clad wife came to the Eastern Shore-- a place as strange to them as they must have seemed to most residents--- it was Millie who was one of the people most welcoming. We shall never forget her "taking us up" making an early and important connection for us to the Shore which has lasted almost 40 years. We shall never forget her many kindnesses. We were so happy when she found her life partner. Now, we are so sorry for her loss.

So many warm summer nights, we spent with Millie at the Bingo Shack, running the Bingo concession. We got to know this endearing person and a good friend to so many including us. Thank you, Millie for all you did in the community and for being our good friend. I know your family and friends will miss that smile, those kind eyes and your loving kindness. Please know we loved you in our own way. Love and peace to all of the family.
