To the Wilkerson Family: I am saddened to learn of the loss of your dear Philip. Please be comforted by the wonderful Bible hope of the resurrection. John 5:28-29 reads in part, " D o not be amazed by this, for th hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear His voice and come out....". This is no mere fantasy. The Bible documents nine different persons who were brought back to life in ancient times. The foremost of these being Jesus Himself. Thus giving demonstration of what God would soon do permanently but on a global scale. While we await that joyous day, may your pleasant memories of Philips' life, along with the guaranteed hope of wrapping your arms around him once again, sooth all of your broken hearts. God always keeps His promises!! My respectful condolences. Mrs. D. Ward. Michigan. jw.org

Lynn and family,
I am so sorry to come your brother's obituary online as I was looking on the website for someone else's obituary. I had not heard. I am thinking about you and your family. Stephanie, it's been years since I've seen you, but please know how deeply sorry I am that you and your family are going through this. Losing a parent has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with in my life. Please know I am thinking about you all. Prayers for you and your family!

So sorry to learn of Phil's passing....there are so many good and lasting memories with our growing up together in Miona....your parents/grandparents were so very generous to us and never to be forgotten...in later years, whenever I saw Phil he was always pleasant and we would reminisce about the good old days....we also enjoyed seeing him at our last Atlantic High School Class of 1968 reunion...Lynn, Lisa, and Kim as well as Debbie, Stephanie, and Treye you are in my thoughts...Treye you are the "spitting" image of your dad...I know how very proud he was of his children....Rest in peace Phil....

Phil had a kind heart, a bright mind, a deep soul, and an authentic drive to be who he was, come what may. He loved his children and his mom, dearly.

From Kahil Gibran's passage on Death:
“For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.”

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left the earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
